A parquet floor restored and washrooms re-floored at a sixth form college in Hove
Two flooring jobs at one site: an old parquet floor brought back to life, and worn washroom floors replaced.

The project in short
At a sixth form college in Hove we restored a tired, old parquet floor, bringing it back to life and restoring its original character, and we removed old, damaged flooring in the washrooms and replaced it with a clean, durable new floor. Both jobs were posted on our Facebook page on 12 September 2026. The photos show the floors before, partway through and after.

Restoring a parquet floor rather than replacing it
A herringbone wood floor can often be worked on and refinished rather than ripped out, which keeps the character the floor had when it was laid. Whether yours can be depends on how worn it is, so ask us to look before you assume it has to be replaced.
Our flooring page lists the other floors we fit and restore.
What matters in a washroom floor
A washroom floor takes water and constant footfall. The questions worth asking are whether the floor is easy to clean, whether it is sealed where it meets the walls, and what the old floor was hiding when it came up.
In these photos the old flooring was taken up first and the new floor was laid up to the walls.
Questions we get asked
